| A. Lange & Söhne sponsors Gerhard Richter retrospective in Beijing |
 |
12 June 2008 Supported by the renowned German watch brand A. Lange & Söhne, two major exhibition projects are unveiling a new outlook on German art at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing: a retrospective of works by Gerhard Richter, one of the globally most acclaimed contemporary German artists, and the “Living Landscapes” exhibition, a journey in pictures through several periods of German landscape painting. The Richter retrospective is a joint project of the Dresden State Art Collections and the Frieder Burda Collection. |

| The German landscape exhibit is based on the cooperation between the Berlin State Museums, the Dresden State Art Collections and the Bavarian State Picture Collections, Munich. A. Lange & Söhne – sponsor of the Dresden State Art Collections and partner in the recently initiated intercultural dialogue “China in Dresden in China” – is pleased to be able to contribute to the success of these ambitious projects and to showcase Dresden, a city steeped in tradition, as a crucible of the arts and a venue for artists. |

| Lange CEO Fabian Krone explains the reasons for this commitment: “Building bridges between China and Germany must be of interest to a brand, which – like A. Lange & Söhne – has its roots in Dresden and sees itself as the ambassador of a cultural tradition. But this dialogue has additional significance for us because of our own involvement in China this year. |

| At the beginning of July, A. Lange & Söhne will open its first shop in Shanghai, followed by a second one in Beijing a few months later. It was thus a foregone conclusion that we would accompany the Dresden State Art Collections, to whom we are linked through a close and long-established partnership, on this organisation’s journey to China.” |
