Every year, Lange gives a group of young people the opportunity to begin an in-depth apprenticeship as a watchmaker in one of the world's last genuine | manufactories.
In the theoretical part of the curriculum, the apprentices become acquainted with the history of horology, learn important fundamentals in mathematics and physics, familiarise themselves with different manufacturing techniques and materials, and produce technical drawings.
In the multi-faceted practical parts of their training, these young people accrue experience with wristwatches, pocket watches, and clocks. They craft the parts of a timepiece by hand, and practice the individual surface treatment and decoration techniques to perfection. Towards the end of their apprenticeships, they can explore the Lange-specific complexities of the craft, such as the assembly of the | outsize date.
When their three-year training period has ended, the young watchmakers have every reason to be proud of what they have learned.
